Rachel was formerly the CEO of a primary MAT in Northamptonshire as well as a serving Executive Headteacher. Prior to this she has worked as a Regional Director for a large MAT with a profile of primary, secondary and special schools.

She has also been a headteacher of both large urban and rural village primary schools and understands the challenges of a range of settings. Rachel has moved two schools out of special measures as both a Headteacher and a CEO, she has also supported schools on their own journeys with this. She is currently an Education Consultant working with a range of schools to support school improvement. 

Rachel has worked with Trustees to develop an effective cycle of risk identification through a risk register and linking this to board reporting and development plan writing at MAT and school level; this has had a significant impact on the strength of governance across the school. 

Rachel has also worked as a Senior Standards and Effectiveness Officer for Slough Borough Council supporting and challenging schools through school improvement and quality assurance. She is also experienced in quality assurance reviews and Headteacher appraisal.  

Rachel has also led a SSIF research project in conjunction with York L.A and Huntingdon Research School in York which was part of the ‘No Child Left Behind Strategy’. The aim of the project was to improve writing outcomes for all pupils, particularly those who are disadvantaged. This project developed a pedagogical model that focused on teacher modelling. The impact of this on teacher confidence and pupil outcomes was significant. 

As well as an Education Consultant, Rachel is currently a lecturer on the Masters Degree in Educational Leadership course at Coventry University. She also delivers on the coaching programme, in addition to this she is external assessor for a range of educational providers.
