Profile

In an inspection soon after Sam’s appointment, Ofsted recognised that ‘the Principal is resolute and determined to provide the highest quality of education for pupils at the school. He has the strong support of governors, staff and pupils’.

Through his drive, energy and clarity of vision, Sam reformed the systems of the school, built a strong ethos of hard work, high standards and endeavour, and attracted high calibre applicants to support the school’s transformation.

Sam went on to lead an academy trust, securing MAT wide solutions for services, raising standards, and successfully bidding for £1.2m in additional funding. He managed the Trust through a merger, working closely with the ESFA and Regional School Commissioner.

He is now an independent consultant in the southeast, supporting schools through periods of significant change and a father to two young children.
