Profile

Deb has taught in schools in Manchester, Stockport, Cheshire and the Wirral for over 20 years. She has developed Art as a subject coordinator and as a consultant, working with schools to develop curriculum planning and progression of knowledge and skills in Art. Deb is passionate about inspiring art provision to engage and motivate pupils.

Deb can provide clear step by step guidance on the process of teaching art and practical advice, ideas and techniques, to enable non-art specialists to deliver a diverse and comprehensive art curriculum.

Working as an adviser and as a practising teacher has provided Deb with a wide range of experiences and the opportunity to support colleagues in improving the teaching of art in their schools.

Particular areas of strength:

Developing planning to show clear progression of knowledge and skills in Art; preparing for a ‘deep dive’ in Art; supporting non-art specialist teachers deliver practical sessions; using a wide range of materials and every day equipment to create quality artwork across the primary age range.
