Gaynor was, until very recently, the CEO of a large primary school Trust in Northamptonshire. In this role, she also acted as a national CEO mentor and coach for the DfE. Prior to this, Gaynor was a head teacher for 16 years. Her school was recognised by the DfE as a National Support School. In her role as an NLE she set up a large teaching school which served Northamptonshire. Gaynor is currently a Leadership Coach for NPQH/EL and coaches on the Masters Degree in Educational Leadership course at Coventry University. In addition to these roles, she is a consultant for ECM supporting school improvement, Trust development, Headteacher and CEO appraisal and training.

Profile

Gaynor was the CEO of Inspire Multi Academy Trust (InMAT) for four years. She successfully set up a large multi academy trust, which had responsibility for delivering a world class education for 3500 primary aged pupils. She provided strategic leadership for all aspects of the Trust, including acting as Accounting Officer, overseeing a budget of approximately 20 million pounds. She was responsible for the future development of the organisation, as well as all outcomes, both academic and non- academic. This role enabled her to set the strategic mission, vision and values of the organisation and embed these within each education establishment.
Previously, she was the Headteacher at The Grange School, Daventry, a position which she held for sixteen years. During her time at the school, she raised standards and aspirations, as well as amalgamating an infant and junior school to become a primary school. The Grange School was extremely well respected throughout Northamptonshire and, under Gaynor’s leadership, was known for its exceptionally high standards and outstanding arts provision. In recognition for her work, she was nominated for, and awarded, Head Teacher of the Year for the East of England. She assisted the LA through the role of Consultant Leader and was a mentor for new head teachers. she is a DfE recognised National Leader of Education (NLE), and The Grange was a National Support School. she also represents the DfE as a Pupil Premium Reviewer/champion. The Grange was one of the lead schools for Inspire Teaching School Alliance. Gaynor was jointly responsible for the vision, values and set up of Inspire Teaching School, further improving young lives across Northamptonshire.
Throughout her substantial experience of senior leadership, Gaynor has a proven track record of success. She has consistently provided strong leadership and a clear vision, which has enabled all of the schools in the MAT to thrive and remain on an upward trajectory. All eleven primary schools in InMAT evidenced significant improvement in outcomes during the four years which she was leading the organisation.
Her entire career has been devoted to improving the life chances of children – She has shared her experience and knowledge with head teachers in the Trust and throughout the country, and has had the opportunity to directly influence improved practice. Gaynor is knowledgeable about improving outcomes for children both in a LA and academy setting.

Particular areas of strength:

Setting up and leading transformational change in a large, multi- school organisation; further developing Trust boards and academy governance; implementing school reviews which make clear judgements about the quality of teaching, learning and assessment and supporting schools in working towards school improvements; Pupil Premium Reviews: team work and developing leadership across school, including robust self-evaluation, governance, safeguarding and Headteacher/CEO appraisal.
