Robbie McGrath is the Headteacher of an Outstanding Primary School and Nursery in Sheffield. He has 13 years of school leadership experience and has worked with schools nationally on curriculum design, assessment, teacher and leadership development.

Profile

In October 2017 Ofsted identified Robbie’s leadership of the school as, ‘Highly effective. Leaders and governors have worked tenaciously to improve the quality of education provided by the school from good to outstanding. They pick up any emerging weaknesses and address them promptly.’ Particular praise was also given to the curriculum which was described as, ‘an inspiring curriculum, which is responsive to the school’s context, is central to realising the school’s vision for pupils to celebrate diversity, be aspirational and enquire about the world.’
Robbie is passionate about ensuring as many children as possible benefit from a brilliant education. He believes all schools are unique and must respond to their own unique context, but that this can be achieved whilst also sharing and learning from each other. His school lead on School Direct Teacher Training for over 50 trainees and he is dedicated to ensuring that new teachers are supported to reach high standards.
Robbie’s current focus in his own school is to eradicate discrimination through curriculum design and representation, with a particular focus on ensuring his school community is antiracist.
