Elizabeth has been Headteacher of Little Aston Primary School near Sutton Coldfield in the West Midlands, since January 2005. Little Aston Primary is an average size, multi-ethnic primary school with 219 children on roll, excluding the Governor run pre-school 'Sparkletots'.

Profile

Approximately one third of the pupils have EAL. The proportion of children with SEN and / or disabilities is average with the percentage of children with FSM below average. Mobility is high in Elizabeth’s school in comparison to national.

Prior to this she was Deputy Headteacher of a large primary school, Gorsemoor, near Cannock and before this she was Assistant Headteacher of Norton Canes Primary school. Elizabeth has experience of working in schools spanning the full range of socio-economic backgrounds. Each presented challenges and opportunities in very different contexts.

Elizabeth is currently involved with the induction of new Head-teachers within the Staffordshire Local Authority. This, her previous involvement with Becta as part of their 'Leading Leaders' group, other programmes such as Leading from the Middle and through her work on the implementation of the school learning platform has given her the opportunities to work with other schools, middle leaders and Head-teachers both within Staffordshire and beyond. Elizabeth is also deployed as an LLE within Staffordshire. She particularly enjoys these roles as she believes that using collaborative working and networks to develop professionally ultimately improves outcomes for our children.

Elizabeth’s experience spans the primary range, including Early Years. She has worked with schools on developing the quality of teaching and learning through monitoring and evaluation systems, including data analysis and school improvement planning. Staff development, including developing subject leaders, effective teams and distributed leadership within schools has also been a significant part of her work with other schools.
