Profile

Nikki currently works in a multi academy trust which includes two schools, Bishop Bridgeman and St James Church of England Primary, with a third school joining in September 2018. Nikki has the responsibility of leading teaching and learning across the schools in the Trust.

As part of leading teaching and learning, Nikki conducts regular monitoring and consistency checks and feeds back to staff swiftly to impact on their practice in all schools in the MAT. Through effective systems and processes put into place the teaching and learning profile across the MAT has strengthened, in particular in the school in which Nikki provides school to school support 1.5 days a week for. The school was graded Requires Improvement by Ofsted in Feb 2016, with 88% of teaching now good or better and 50% outstanding, previously this was only 44% good and 0% outstanding.

“The vision and drive of the Principal, together with support and joint working across the MAT, are bringing about ongoing school improvement….the school is clearly on its journey to becoming good.” (EOSE January 2018)

Attainment at the end of key stage 2 is also on an upward trend in the school in which Nikki supports, predictions for 2018 are significantly improved from last year. “The vision of the headteacher remains strong and partnership working with Bishop Bridgeman continues to have a significant impact. Leaders are rightly proud of their achievements over the last year but are far from complacent and very clear about what still needs to be done.” (LP report 2017)

During another teaching and learning review it was stated that “Throughout the review, leaders demonstrated a passion and total commitment to doing the very best for all the pupils at the school. This enthusiasm and determination is shared by governors, the executive principal, and staff at all levels within the school” (EOSE November 2017)

Through her role as School Improvement Director Nikki has successfully supported a newly established Senior Leadership Team in further developing roles and responsibilities, data analysis, monitoring and evaluation and has also supported through inspection and teaching and learning reviews. Nikki is a trained coach and uses her coaching skills to support colleagues to grow leadership capacity and sustained improvement.

Nikki is the the Data Protection Officer (DPO) within the Multi Academy Trust and has delivered training to SLTs, Governors and Trustees and also produced documents, policies and data maps to ensure compliance under the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Nikki has an excellent understanding of the requirements and regulations coming into affect and how schools can ensure they are ready to meet these.
